BASPAG AwardsNOMINATION DEADLINE - 29 APRIL 2009 Close of Business The 2009 Basic and Applied Sciences Officer of the Year Award Self-nominations will not be accepted. Incomplete nomination packets will not be considered. The Basic and Applied Sciences Professional Advisory Group (BASPAG) is soliciting nominations for the first Basic and Applied Sciences Officer of the Year Award. This award was developed to acknowledge a United States Public Health Service (USPHS) officer that is a member of the Health Services Category, with a concentration in scientific disciplines such as the biological sciences, epidemiology, health sciences, mathematical sciences, and physical sciences. The nominee should have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the Nation's health, demonstrated leadership in their work and the USPHS, and show involvement in health-related professional or community organizations or activities. The award will be presented annually at the Commissioned Officers Association (COA) meeting. Complete the Officer of the Year Award nomination form. Nominations may come from a supervisor, professional colleague, or anyone who, through a professional working relationship, can attest to the impact of the nominee's contributions to the advancement of public health. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Incomplete nomination packets will not be considered. Completed nomination packages are to be submitted to LCDR Destry M.
