IT / Computer Science Specialist of the Year Award
Applicants:
Any active duty USPHS Commissioned Officer working in or holding a
billet for Information Technology (IT) or Computer Science may be
nominated. One awardee will be chosen each year. Self nominations
are not allowed. Nominee cannot be a current voting member of the
Information Technology Advisory Group (ITPAG). Applicants must meet
Basic Readiness Standards/Basic Qualified to apply.
Nomination Criteria: A one page narrative, Curriculum Vitae
and all nominees must meet the Basic Readiness Standards/Basic
Qualified. The one page narrative must reference a specific
accomplishment in the past year from January 2010 – December 2010.
The narrative must:

Explain the
nominee’s contribution, impact and benefit to the USPHS or
Agency
-
Demonstrate
outstanding leadership
-
A specific
accomplishment that impacts the USPHS
-
Must state
the nominee meets the Basic Readiness Standards
Selection
Process: The Awards Sub-committee will select the IT/Computer
Science Specialist of the Year Award. The recipient will accept the
award at the Commissioned Officers Association (COA) Public Health
Professional Conference. All costs, if attending the COA Conference,
will be the responsibility of the awarded Officer. All nominations
must be received every year by March 15.
